FAQ

General Questions

How much do your machines cost?

Our prices are listed on each page for that specific product. This is a modular system: Each propane module has six compartments and each Woodshax module has eight compartments. Both systems can be easily added to the Main unit to fit the demand and available space. Shipping is extra. We provide a 1-year full parts and service, and three-year parts warranty on all our machines.

Do you have customer service?
Of course! We are available to answer your questions 24/7/365… simply use our contact page or call.
How do they work?
We have a 4G secure and encrypted telemetry system that finds the strongest cell signal in the area. We also have solar powered systems where electrical outlets are unavailable.
Are the machines ADA compliant?
Yes… there is a button at the appropriate height that will vend from the middle and lower compartments which are within the ADA height guidelines. Speaker and earphone jacks are also available.
How do I get a receipt?
Email the address or text the number on the machine with the last four digits of the card you used and we will send the receipt back to you.
Seems like a complicated system….how often do they break down.
Although the operating system is state of the art, all the hardware has been thoroughly tested in various outdoor operation in the oil and gas field and have proven to be very reliable. The only moving part in the system is the electromechanical locks. We rarely have issues. In over five years of operation in the extreme Texas weather and locations far north like Wisconsin and South Dakota we’ve experience no significant issues.

Do you ever have any vandalism?
To date, we have had no vandalism at all.
Does the machine take Cash?
No. Since they are unattended, we opted not to have a cash option on the machine. We made the decision not to include a “bill acceptor” to preclude attempts to break into the machine to steal the cash.

However, for Propane Vending units, you can pay with cash inside the store. The bottle is paid for in the store and an attendant goes to the machine opens the master compartment, presses the “cash sale” button and the vend cycle is initiated and recorded as a cash sale on the POS system.

Propane Vending Machines

How do I know what compartment my propane is in?
The door to that compartment will swing open and the door number will appear on the customer display.
How do they work?
You simply press “purchase” or Exchange on the customer interface and follow the prompts.

  • swipe your card
  • compartment door opens
  • take out the bottle
  • shut door (purchase)
  • replace with an empty bottle (exchange)
  • shut door
What happens if I press “exchange” but then do not put an empty back in?
The machine is designed to “see” that a bottle has been returned and if one is not or the door is not closed in the allotted time you will be charged for a “purchase”
What about theft?
Each compartment is designed so that even if you cut out the compartment covering, the bottle will not fit through the frame. Each lock can withstand 600KG prying force and the fastest anyone has been able to bend the frame enough to remove a bottle (in testing) is 18 minutes.
What about fraud?
We have an EMV card reader and the machine can be set to only approve the same credit card a certain amount of times.

Wood Vending Machines

How do I know what compartment my wood is in?

The door to that compartment will swing open and the door number will appear on the customer display.

Where do you get your firewood from?

Our Firewood is either locally sourced (within 50 miles of the park) or kiln dried to stem the spread of invasive species and tree disease.

How do you price your firewood for sales?

All our firewood is Oak, well seasoned, split small and medium at 18”, bagged and delivered for 24-hour availability and a portion of the sales price goes directly back to the State Park system. The machines are filled as required and we never let them go empty. We strive to meet or beat local bagged or bundled firewood prices found at nearby stores with a superior product.

How do they work out here in the woods?

We have a 4G secure and encrypted telemetry system that finds the strongest cell signal in the area. We also have solar powered systems where electrical outlets are unavailable.
